WINNERS – House 2
Leah and Ash

Winners on The Block this week, Leah and Ash, won the applause of the judges with a daring design for their living and dining space, quirky furniture choices and eye-catching artwork. The Venetian plaster fireplace surround in particular was a winner for us, and we just loved their use of colour. “Phenomenal,” said Shaynna Blaze.

Kyle and Leslie

WA couple Kyle and Leslie struggled with their smaller living area and furniture placement, which didn’t go down well with the judges. We did love seeing all the curves in the room (as did judge Darren Palmer, who made a few comments about them), created with the amazing Gyprock Flexible plasterboard.

Kristy and Brett

Kristy and Brett delivered a living space that was soft, subtle, and quite glamorous, we thought. It was a thoughtful layout, and we admired the choice of the three-sided fireplace and the luxurious sofa. “This is a really great floorplan… a really great space,” said Darren Palmer.

Steph and Gian

Steph and Gian added layers of texture and style in their #japandi style living and dining space. The judges were not sure about the couple’s decision to change the floorplan but will reserve judgement in kitchen week when the space is complete. “I think the aesthetic in this room is beautiful,” said Shaynna.

Eliza and Liberty

Sisters Eliza and Liberty had the largest space to work on this week on The Block and the huge task almost defeated them. We did love the end result, however, and agree with judge Darren Palmer, who called it a “perfect, elegant, contemporary dining space”.
